Business meetings are held once a month, 3rd Tuesday, at 7:30 pm.
Our council hosts a large number of council activities throughout the year.
Activities that we have helped with in the past few months include:
The Council held a 1st Degree in September and will host another on January 6, 2007. The Knights also were the chefs for the annual Sacred Heart Parish picnic on September 24th. The hotdogs, burgers, fried onions and homemade relish filled 200+ parishioners as they enjoy the games and visiting with others throughout the day.
Council #13364 followed it's October Membership Blitz by having an Awards Buffet November 4th. Knights and Prospective candidates/families were invited to the event and nearly 50 were in attendance. The attendees enjoyed a great lasagna dinner, homemade desserts and refreshments. Margie Sheeley received a certificate honoring her late husband Robert. The highlight of the evening occurred when State Treasurer John Wallace presented Past Grand Knight Jim Libra with the Star Council Award. The evening culminated with a raffle. Each person donating to the Pennies From Heaven Fund was eligible to for the drawing.
On December 5 Council 13364 held a LIGHT FOR CHRIST event as the small, outside chapel cross was lighted. After prayers and songs the assembled parishioners and knights retired to the church hall for hot drinks, great Christmas cookies and fellowship. The Knights had a brisk religious Christmas card sales as parishioners purchased most of the available cards on the weekend masses in December. This year the council also sold "Keep Christ in Christmas" and "Jesus is the reason for the season" yard signs.
Council members also cooked and served food for the Sacred Heart parish Simbang Gabi celebration. This Filipino Christmas celebration was well attended with people from neighboring parishes attending as well. After a 7PM Mass the people went to the parish hall and enjoyed abundant ethnic foods and seasonal fellowship. (LeRoy Schueller roy1940@hughes.net should have pics)
In January Council 13364 will be hosting a 1st Degree on January 6th. All candidates are to be at the Sacred Heart CFC building by 9:30AM.
At the March 14th soup supper with 45-50 attendees polished off nearly 7 pots of excellent soups! Thanks to all who helped out by providing soup, rolls and set up.
The K of C appreciates the opportunity to serve the parish through the soup supper, bible purchases, parish picnics, etc.
